Challenge: A materials science OEM needed to add XYZ positioning in a minimal footprint. The testing environment is a high-radiation, high-temperature environment and needs a high level of precision.
Solution: The XYZ stage was designed largely with stainless steel to minimize the effects of thermal expansion. The open aperture in XY allows the Z stage to be embedded in the mounting plane to minimize the footprint needed inside the test chamber area.
Result: The OEM is able to articulate in XYZ in a difficult environment (temperature and radiation) while minimizing the overall machine footprint.
