Challenge: An x-ray imaging OEM needed to rotate samples during the imaging process and needed a large through-bore to accommodate their existing equipment. The axial and radial runout was extremely critical to maintain image fidelity throughout rotation.
Solution: Motion Solutions designed a rotary stage with a high precision bearing with a large through-bore and is driven by a worm gear arrangement. An optical scale was placed close to the payload to maximize precision throughout the rotation.
Result: Position of the sample being imaged is precise throughout rotation without the OEM needing to redesign their existing equipment to accommodate the Theta axis.
