Challenge: A 100 lb payload must be positioned with stroke in the following range: 44” linear, +/- 90 deg (3x articulated arms). Product must be clean-room ready for use in wafer processing area.
Solution: Long stroke linear actuator with fully customized removable articulated arm, allowing three-joint movement to allow lifting claw to interface and mount to customer ampoule. Motion Solutions provided design and assembly, THK linear guide, Helix leadscrew, and INA tapered roller bearings for articulated arm. Also Animatics motor, Apex gearbox and Omron limit sensors.
Result: We completed development and assembly of a single unit, as required. Product was successfully proof load tested and accepted by customer for use. Customer appreciated Motion Solutions’ willingness to customize every facet of the design.
